Course Details and Amenities

The Half-Marathon course is gently rolling, scenic, relatively flat, fast, and takes participants through open country and past neighborhoods and parks. It has a downhill 2-mile finish, offers you a great chance for a PR, and a tune-up for marathons. The 5K follows the first 1.55 miles of the Half-Marathon course. Courses are out and back and offer a safe route well marked by Area Wide Protective. Cheer Stations will be along the route to encourage runners and walkers, with cash prizes going to the first 10 stations and the top three best! The Course closes at 11 am.

Celebrity Starter

Each year the Museum partners with a local celebrity to kick off the Stampede. Last year, Buffalo Bill paid us a visit, and past starters included Texas A&M Women's Basketball Coach Gary Blair and Olympic Gold Medalist, Randy Matson. Stay tuned for our surprise announcement later this summer regarding this year’s celebrity starter!

Runners' packets and late registration will be available on Thursday, October 10, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday, October 11, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Museum.
